LEVE’s approach is one of facilitation, working the lead firms already established in the apparel and textile sector and with workforce service providers and technical and vocational education training institutes (TVET) with programs feeding into the selected value chains within this sector. This market-driven approach will ensure that training initiatives provide the skills and knowledge required for employment in selected value chains.

As part of the LEVE team, the WFD Specialist will work closely within the apparel and textile value chain, supporting LEVE’s value chain activities in general, and particularly developing appropriate solutions to address the training needs of the subsectors: big and small—mass industrial and local-market, small-scale stitchers and designers.

Workforce development activities could include, for example: linking training and workforce service providers with mass industry; assisting TVETs to adapt curriculum to meet the needs of the mass industry and design-oriented firms; training of trainers; and the development of systems to monitor the performance of training and workforce service providers.

Qualifications requises:

Qualifications:

•Master’s degree (preferred) or Bachelor’s in business, education, or a relevant field.
•At least 2 years experience with a Master’s degree, or at least 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree - providing assistance to apparel and textile sector, businesses, local training service providers and apparel associations to address workforce and training needs; including conducting needs assessments, developing innovative means to transfer know-how, and building the capacity of training providers.
•Experience developing and/or supporting and scaling internship, apprenticeship and/or on-the-job training programs
•Experience supporting career service centers established by TVETs or other NGOs
•Solid knowledge/understanding of apparel & textile sector, in particular with mass industrial and small scale stitchers and designers
•Fluency in English and French; Haitian Creole highly desirable.
•Demonstrated understanding of Haitian context.
