HELP Information Technology Instructor (ITI) at Haitian Education & Leadership Program

Description du poste:

The Information Technology Instructor (ITI) is responsible for all aspects of IT instruction at HELP. The ITI reports to the Academic Director and works closely with the Citizenship & Leadership staff and the English Program staff. The ITI works with HELP staff and students to ensure that current IT practices and systems are understood and used responsibly. In addition to facilitating IT courses at HELP, the ITI is responsible for working with HELP’s IT staff to organize and maintain all educational technology systems used in the Academic Department. Responsibilities include: planning and facilitating IT courses, managing the information technologies and resources of the Academic Department, taking primary responsibility for the IT program’s administrative tasks and communications, and improving the program structure (through tasks such as curriculum development). The ITI is also primarily responsible for representing the IT program to visitors, donors, etc. Proficiency in educational technologies is required

Qualifications requises:

• Bachelor’s degree (in a related field)
• Experience in teaching
• Excellent communication skills, flexibility, ability to work under high-pressure situations, ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ease with autonomy and limited structure
• Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs (Excel, Word)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to read, write, and speak English and Creole. French is an asset.

The mission of the Haitian Education & Leadership Program (HELP) is to create, through merit- and needs-based university scholarships, a community of young professionals and leaders who will promote a more just society in Haiti.

The goal of HELP’s Academic Department is for all students to develop English proficiency, capacity in information technologies, as well as the skills and desire to work for positive change in Haiti. HELP’s English Language, IT, and Citizenship & Leadership (C&L) classes are taught as separate curricula, however cross-curricular connections are an important part of course development
