Future Hope Manager at Orphelinat Maison de Lumière / Child Hope International

Overview
Reporting to the Haiti Director of Operations and Finance, this position is responsible for preparing the resident children of Maison De Lumiere for career success. The Future Hope Manager will begin working with the child as early as possible to assess and identify vocation, training and education opportunities. This role will also help the development of internship program with businesses to increase the possibility of securing a job.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Development of Life Action Plan for every child, to be updated quarterly
Ages 5-13: Meet quarterly or more in group settings to discuss career destinations, with the intention of allowing children to Dream
Ages 14-18: Organize and facilitate workshops to get students prepared for internships
Utilize current relationships and establish new relationships with businesses and organizations to create and monitor internships for CHI children.schedule and rotate internship.
Follow-up with students as they create and update their resumes
Look for and organize field trips for the children where they will learn about employment opportunities in Haiti.
Work on secondary education/trade school, including access to scholarships, and support (Grad Fund)
Educational activities with CHI kids (follow up with library program)
Character building program ( theme sessions, guest speakers, training)
Google drive management (file update, monthly report. Spreadsheet for summer schedule
Aftercare follow-up with graduates (3rd month, 6th month, 9th month, 1 year)
Semi-annual update to Board of Directors on graduates’ status

METRICS FOR SUCCESS
Develop and maintain personal Life Actions Plans and quarterly meetings for each child
2 vocational exposures (e.g., field trips, guest speakers) per year per child
Develop systems for finding internship opportunities, marketing to business and schools, presenting them with our Internship Guidelines document.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
Each child has a successful internship with an outside business
Each child creates and maintains an active resume and cover letter

Qualifications requises:

Required
Degree in sociology or education (Prefered)
Experience working with children
English, French, Creole
Knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint

CHI was founded for the purpose of establishing and financially supporting the Maison de Lumiere (MDL) Orphanage, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, which exists to provide care for the orphaned and create Hope for families in Haiti, through Christian motivated care, relationships, and training. Our vision is to provide orphan care that reduces the future demand for orphan care in Haiti.
